CONHECIMENTOS SOBRE AS FLUTUAÇÕES CLIMÁTICAS DO QUATERNÁRIO NO BRASIL

Resumo

The knowledge on the climatic changes undergone by the Brazilian land during the Quaternary are very incomplete. The Author analyzes the available data concerning the problem, not withstanding in the next coming years the increasing of the knowledge on the intertropical Geomorphology and Pedology will certainly introduce radical modification in the present point of view. In this article are refered as good paleoclimatic indicators for the Quaternary, the extensive rounded peebles deposits of the low fill terraces, the lateritic crusts, some degraded paleo-soils, pleistocenic "bajadas" deposits and residuals vegetation spots. It is unnecessary to remember that the data concerning the climatic fluctuation of the Brazilian Quaternary will be very profitable to the understanding of the climatic problems of the nonglaciated areas.
