Resumo

Concentrations of 18O and D were measured in the water from an artificial lake located in Ceara State, Brazilian Northeast, during dry seasons. The samples were collected in the periods of August to January of 1971 and August to December of 1972. The evaporation line obtained was δD = 5,0 δ18o + 0,4. From δD values, the fraction of water evaporated in these periods was calculated. This evaporation rate was 26 % for the first period and 33% for the second one. The comparison of these values with the limnimetric measurements obtained during the aforementioned periods showed that loss through evaporation is much heavier than through infiltration.
